Loaves & Fishes Receives Support from Members and Employees at Bangor FCU

Loaves & Fishes has a mission to feed and serve their neighbors in Hancock County with dignity and respect. This week, their important work received a boost from Bangor FCU.

All four of the credit union’s branches have been working with their members to collect non-perishable food for the pantry. The branches even engaged in some friendly competition to see which location could collect the most food, with the “winning” branch earning a $100 staff lunch.

On Tuesday, the Bangor FCU team delivered six shopping carts full of food—over 640 pounds—to Loaves & Fishes’ new location in Ellsworth. The credit union also presented the pantry with a $500 donation to help them fight food insecurity.

Loaves & Fishes will soon receive an additional $100 from the credit union, thanks to the generosity of the Venture Way branch. This location collected the most food and employees there will be donating the $100 they were going to use toward a team luncheon to the food pantry instead.
