Football season is coming and so is the Take a Chance to End Hunger Sweepstakes! The League is proud to bring back another chance to collaborate with our credit unions and their members in support of Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.
From now until September 5, your credit union will have the opportunity to collect suggested donations from members in your lobbies in exchange for entry into the sweepstakes. One winner will receive two upgraded tickets to the opening New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens game at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on Sunday, September 25. The winner will also get roundtrip bus transportation from Cabela’s in Scarborough, along with food before and after the game.
Credit unions can request up to 50 tickets to participate in this fundraiser. Tickets will be mailed to credit unions as requests are received, and if there is availability, additional tickets can be provided. Online sales are prohibited. Half of the proceeds raised by participating credit unions will go toward their 2022 Ending Hunger fundraising total.
The fundraiser is being conducted differently than how the League has coordinated similar efforts in the past. Because we are coordinating a sweepstakes, not a raffle, a ticket can be provided to a member for a suggested Campaign donation of $10 per ticket; however, no purchase is required. If someone wants a ticket to enter the sweepstakes without making a donation to the Campaign, they must direct their request to the League as explicitly outlined in the sweepstakes rules. Once their request is received, the League will enter them into the sweepstakes.
Complete and incomplete tickets must be returned (together) to the League by September 5, along with a check for the proceeds made out to: Take a Chance to End Hunger in Maine.
The winner will be drawn on September 9 and the credit union that provided the winning ticket will be notified by phone. Gameday tickets will be distributed electronically. Details containing the transportation information to the game will be provided directly to the winner. The winner and their guest must be 21 years or older and comply with Gillette Stadium’s Fan Health Promise.
