Every year, the need to help ensure children are fed during the summer grows.
As they have done in the past, Full Plates Full Potential has shared with the League the summer meal grant requests they received from school departments across Maine. The list of requests for help is even bigger than it was a year ago, and unfortunately, almost half of the summer programs set to begin in a few weeks are providing non-reimbursable meals. This means the U.S. Department of Agriculture will not fund them.
If your credit union or chapter is interested in partially or fully funding a local summer meal program, please email Jen Burke at jburke@mainecul.org for more information. A list of communities requesting assistance at various financial levels is below.
