Who says you can’t celebrate Christmas throughout the year? The team at Franklin-Somerset FCU captured the giving spirit of the holidays last month by holding a collection drive for the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers. The credit union asked members to donate coloring books, crayons, markers, and board games—and they delivered! Thanks to the generosity of the credit union and its members, the donation boxes at the credit union’s five branches and its Operations Center were filled.
The Maine Children’s Home will donate the collected items to children in need during the upcoming holiday season. The Christmas Program at Maine Children’s Home is the only one of its kind that provides brand new clothes, winter essentials, toys, books, and games to more than 1,500 Maine children whose families are facing financial hardship.
“Our members and employees really stepped up,” said Bev Knapp, CEO at Franklin-Somerset FCU. “We were happy to help make someone’s Christmas just a little brighter!”
