People Helping People is what credit unions do best and that’s exactly what NorState FCU plans to do on August 24. The credit union is hosting a special fundraiser to support the Dr. Levesque Elementary School in Frenchville. The school—a community fixture—was destroyed by a fire in June.
“We are so excited to be able to help out and make this important fundraising event successful and fun for everyone,” said Susan G. Whitehead, President & CEO at NorState FCU. “Although losing the Dr. Levesque Elementary School was a devastating event, our local communities, along with generous people from far and wide, are pulling together to make sure that the students and teachers are taken care of.”
The event will feature Frenchville native Adam Ouellette, who will play music from 6:00—8:00 pm. Lakeview Restaurant will be onsite serving food and will donate all proceeds from their food sales to the fundraiser. In addition, the credit union is conducting a 50/50 raffle. Tickets can be purchased at the event or at one of the credit union’s branches.
“NorState FCU is committed to doing what we can to help,” added Whitehead. “We are NorState Federal Credit Union and Dr. Levesque School strong!”
