TruChoice FCU recently awarded three high school graduates each with a $1,000 scholarship to help them pursue a four-year college degree. Khalil Kilani of Portland, Kaila Mank of Raymond, and Joseph Skvorak of Buxton were selected as this year’s TruChoice FCU Scholarship recipients.
To be eligible for a credit union scholarship, applicants were asked to write an essay sharing their interests and goals. They also were required to outline any activities they participated in at school and/or within their community. With an outstanding pool of applicants, the credit union’s Scholarship Committee had a difficult decision when selecting this year’s winners.
“We love being able to support the youth in Maine by helping them achieve their dreams and further their education,” said Ken Acker, CEO of TruChoice FCU. “Our Scholarship Committee was very impressed with the applicants this year, and we are wishing everyone the best of luck in their future as they continue to make positive impacts in their communities.”
In prior years, TruChoice FCU provided a $500 award to their scholarship recipients. This year, the credit union increased their scholarship amount to $1,000.
The League joins TruChoice FCU in extending our congratulations to these award recipients!
