Gardiner FCU is pleased to announce it has presented five local high school graduates with $750 scholarships to support their college endeavors. Recipients include:
- Trinity Marshall, Gardiner Area High School
- Lindsay Cote, Waterville High School
- Jack Begin, Cony High School
- Bao Chi Dang, Lincoln Academy
- Makayla Bergeron, Richmond High School
Because the scholarship program is open to students already attending college, the credit union also awarded Ashley Holmes, a 2019 graduate of Medomak High School, with a $750 scholarship.
To be considered for a scholarship, students had to complete an application and submit two qualifying essays. They did not need to be a member to apply, but applicants needed to qualify for membership by living, working, worshiping, or attending school in Kennebec County, Lincoln County, or in the towns of Palermo or Richmond. A total of 81 applications were received.
“Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who applied for giving us a glimpse into their lives,” said Kelly Marie, Gardiner FCU Scholarship Committee Member. “Gardiner FCU wishes everyone the best in their studies.”
