CUNA Mutual Group Foundation Grant Application Schedule for 2021


The CUNA Mutual Group Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CUNA Mutual Group, is dedicated to building equity in the communities where they serve. Knowing that they can help more people through intentional community outreach, the Foundation focuses on three areas to help address racial and socio-economic disparities that prevent people from getting ahead financially:

  • Economic security
  • Education
  • Emergency aid

In 2020, the CUNA Mutual Group Foundation donated $3.9 million dollars to support more than 80 community partners and organizations. The Foundation also actively supports and participates in the credit union movement, fully embracing the cooperative philosophy of People Helping People.

If your credit union is interested in applying for a Foundation grant to support an initiative that aligns with one of the Foundation’s key focus areas, it is important to keep upcoming application deadlines in mind. Foundation grant requests are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year but must be received at least 45 days before the meeting in which it will be reviewed. Foundation meeting dates for remainder of 2021 are as follows:

  • June 22 (deadline to apply 5/8)
  • August 24 (deadline to apply 7/10)
  • October 26 (deadline to apply 9/11)
  • December 6 (deadline to apply 10/23)
