NAFCU Cancels Annual Conference Citing Health & Safety Concerns

(From Credit Union Times) – NAFCU announced that it has cancelled the organization’s 54th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo due to the ongoing pandemic.

Originally scheduled for July 27-30 in Savannah, Ga., NAFCU officials decided it was best to call off the conference to ensure the health and safety of employees and attendees to its in-person event as the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to rise.

In a statement, NAFCU President/CEO Dan Berger said, “This is not a decision we have made lightly, but one we believe is in the best interest of all those involved due to the conference’s expected large in-person attendance. NAFCU remains committed to providing our member credit unions with the same high-level quality educational services they have come to expect from us via other virtual channels.”

While the large annual conference has been cancelled, NAFCU said it is working on a number of virtual and smaller in-person events for 2021, as well as a number of educational webinars.
