Community CU Receives Grant Funding from the CDBG Program

Community CU is pleased to announce it has received two grants from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The first grant supports subsidizing the cost of emergencies for Lewiston residents. Individuals who experienced a qualified emergency and meet the income guidelines could be eligible for up to $500 in grant funds. Potential applicants can call the credit union for more information or to see if they qualify.

The second grant focuses on connecting the community to resources that can help people achieve financial wellness. In 2021, Community CU will hold free, virtual financial education courses on a variety of topics. The credit union will advertise the dates of these sessions on its website and Facebook page once finalized. These courses will be offered in multiple languages through a partnership with ProsperityME.
