Acadia FCU Names 2020 Scholarship Recipients


Acadia FCU is proud to announce its 2020 Acadia FCU Scholarship recipients. Cady Hebert, Zachery Chasse, and Neily Raymond will each receive $2,000. Recipients were selected based on a written essay, personal and academic achievements, grade point average, and financial need.

“We are so pleased to play a part in helping to finance these deserving students with the Acadia FCU Scholarship,” said Jill Bouchard Cairns, Acadia FCU’s Chief Relationship Officer.  “We wish these three students the very best in their future endeavors. We are excited to hear all about their first year of college!”

Hebert is a 2020 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School and plans to attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Chasse also is a 2020 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School and plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono. Raymond is a 2020 graduate of Hermon High School and plans to attend Bowdoin College.

Each $2,000 scholarship will be spread out over two years, with $1,000 awarded to each recipient after the first semester of their first year and the second $1,000 installment payable after the first semester of their second year.

The Acadia FCU Scholarship is available to current Maine high school seniors who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Attend an Aroostook, Piscataquis, Penobscot, Washington, or Hancock County high school;
  • Plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university; and
  • Are an active Acadia FCU member or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are active member(s).

Acadia FCU will begin accepting applications for 2021 scholarship opportunities on February 10, 2021.
