Northeast Credit Union Shows Love for Its Communities Through New Award Program

Northeast Credit Union has announced it will donate $120,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Maine and New Hampshire over the next six months.

Starting in June, Northeast Credit Union will donate $20,000 per month for six months to at least 60 nonprofit organizations across the region. The Love Your Community Awards is a philanthropic initiative that is part of Northeast Credit Union’s regionwide Love Your Community Project, which aims to encourage people to practice kindness in their everyday lives.

“For more than 80 years, Northeast Credit Union has always looked for every opportunity to give back to the communities we serve, and our commitment to supporting our friends and neighbors across the region is as strong as ever,” said Timothy J. Collia, President and CEO at Northeast Credit Union. “We are proud to play our part in helping northern New England recover from this unprecedented crisis, and we applaud the local nonprofit community for their tireless dedication to providing support to those who need it most.”

Recipients of Northeast Credit Union’s Love Your Community Awards will be selected through a monthly public voting process. Nonprofit organizations can apply online at www.TheLYC.com and finalists will be posted online. Maine and New Hampshire residents will vote for their favorite organization and at the end of each month, Northeast Credit Union will make donations to the 10 organizations with the most votes. Increments of funding will range from $500 to $5,000. Winners will be announced during the first week of every month.
