UCU Welcomes Bob Williams as VP of Finance and Technology


University Credit Union (UCU) is pleased to welcome Bob Williams, CPA as Vice President of Finance and Technology.

Williams will serve on the credit union’s senior management team and be responsible for finance, including accounting and financial analytics, information technology, and facilities. He also will serve as the primary liaison between the credit union and its vendors, auditors, and regulatory authorities for the accounting and finance areas.

“Bridging technology and finance enables UCU to be innovative and achieve greater efficiency while reducing risk and improving access to better services,” said Renee Ouellette, President and CEO of UCU. “As Vice President of Finance and Technology, Bob brings strong technical financial experience to UCU, along with a familiarity with our field of membership as a two-time graduate of the University of Maine and native of Brewer.”

Williams brings over a decade of accounting and financial management experience at several large entities, including a New England-based insurance agency, a CPA firm, a financial institution, and a nonprofit community action agency. In his prior roles, Williams was responsible for a wide range of financial management and accounting processes, from internal controls and security to audits, analysis, and reporting.

In addition to Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure, Williams holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting, both from the University of Maine. Outside the office, Williams has volunteered as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Bangor Humane Society since 2012.
