Join Brewer FCU at either of its two branches on Friday, December 20 from 8 am-5 pm, to enjoy some cocoa for an important cause. The credit union will be giving away hot chocolate and accepting donations for the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.
“Food insecurity is a real issue in the state of Maine,” said Dave DeFroscia, Brewer FCU President/CEO in an interview with 92.9 FM’s Wayne Harvey. “As always in Maine, in the winter and around the holidays, everything is a little bit tougher. Food insecurity is a real challenge and its been tackled by the credit unions since 1990.”
You don’t have to be a member to stop by a branch and participate in Cocoa for a Cause. All community members are welcome. Delicious holiday baked goods also will be on hand. Donations for the Campaign will be accepted, but are not required.
“Somebody here in our Brewer/Bangor area that makes a donation can rest assured that the money is going back to their neighborhood,” said DeFroscia.
Brewer FCU branches are located at 229 Dirigo Drive and 77 North Main Street in Brewer.
