On May 18-19, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, the Maine Credit Union League held its 80th Annual Meeting & Convention and the celebration included a strong turnout of nearly 750 CU officials from across Maine, great speakers, and plenty of passion and enthusiasm to build upon the solid growth of Maine CUs.
“From continued membership growth to a significant increase in the average CU-member relationship, all indications are that Maine consumers are continuing to turn to credit unions for financial services. We have a great foundation upon which to build, and on this occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Maine Credit Union League, we have a clear vision to provide the tools, resources and support to help our credit unions succeed and improve the financial lives of their members,” Maine CU League President/CEO Todd Mason told attendees.
The League welcomed three, nationally-recognized and acclaimed keynote speakers to the Convention and all three “offered advice and knowledge that integrated the Convention’s theme of Creating Connections.”
In addition to strong speakers, the Convention featured a sold-out exhibit area, world-class entertainment, and plenty of opportunities for networking and connecting CU leaders, officials and staff from across the state. “The Convention is our biggest event of the year and, at the end of the day, it is about people and bringing people together to reinforce the power of cooperation and the importance of collaboration. This year’s Convention accomplished our goal of celebrating the past and present, and embracing a vision to continue to make the League and credit unions even stronger in the years ahead,” added Mason.
