League President/CEO Todd Mason, League Vice President of Governmental Affairs Elise Baldacci, and Maine State Credit Union President/CEO Tucker Cole participated at last week’s American Association of Credit Union League’s (AACUL) winter conference in Huntington Beach, California. A variety of topics were covered at the conference including federal and state advocacy plans, corporate social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion.
“It is always valuable to join our peers from other Leagues at events like this one,” said Baldacci who also serves on the AACUL’s State Issues Advocacy Committee and Cannabis Banking Subcommittee. “We all face individual challenges in our states, but having a forum to share ideas, discuss trends, and collaborate strengthens our ability to overcome obstacles and move important policy goals forward.”
In addition, AACUL members took time to elect the 2019 AACUL Board. Representatives for the coming year will include:
- Chair: Scott Simpson, President/CEO, Utah Credit Union Association
- Vice Chair: Diana Dykstra, President/CEO, California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues
- Secretary/Treasurer: Patrick Conway, President/CEO, Pennsylvania Credit Union Association
- Jill Nowacki, President/CEO, Credit Union League of Connecticut
- Jeff Olson, President/CEO, Credit Union Association of the Dakotas
Other ex-officio members of the AACUL Board also include Mark Cummins, President/CEO, Minnesota Credit Union Network; Jim Nussle, President/CEO, CUNA; and Brad Miller, Executive Director, AACUL.
