The holidays are finally upon us and one thing is for certain, this season of joy and celebration will pass by us quickly. Before you know it, the deadline to submit Ending Hunger contributions will be here. If you don’t already have the deadline marked on your calendar, you’ll want to make sure all funds for the 2018 Maine CUs’ Campaign for Ending Hunger are submitted to the Maine Credit Union League by Friday, January 4, 2019. Checks or money orders should be sent to:

Will 2018 be another record-setting year for the Maine CUs’ Campaign for Ending Hunger? We hope so! The generosity and participation of credit unions and their members has been amazing, proving that the “People Helping People” philosophy resonates well with Mainers.
This year, the League set a goal to have 100% cooperation from credit unions to strengthen the cooperative spirit and support of the Campaign.
“All of the credit unions’ efforts in raising funds for the Ending Hunger Campaign is incredibly important and inspiring,” said Jake Holmes, Financial Literacy Outreach Coordinator for the Maine Credit Union League. “It is amazing to see that the willingness to help our neighbors extends far beyond financial services.”
The results for the 2018 Campaign will be revealed at the Ending Hunger Luncheon on Tuesday, February 12, at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. In addition to finding out whether Maine’s CUs surpassed last year’s total of over $740,000, a wonderful program awaits credit union staff and Ending Hunger advocates. This includes remarks from former Maine State Senator Justin Alfond and Kristen Miale, President of Good Shepherd Food Bank.
Since 1990, the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has raised over $8 million, including the record-breaking $740,000 raised during 2017. For questions about this program or assistance, please contact Jake Holmes.
