Rally To End Hunger Offers Place To Share Ideas, Learn About Hunger In Maine

As the 2015 CU Ending Hunger Rally and Information Session for ending hunger representatives nears, it is still not too late to register to attend.  The October 1st event is the perfect kick-off to National Co-Op month, as your League's Social Responsibility coordinates the event as an opportunity for credit unions to learn about new fundraising ideas, hear and share successful fundraisers that have been done at other credit unions, and spend some time helping sort and pack food for hunger organizations.

"The brainstorming and the ideas that come out of the Rally really do help credit unions take a new approach to raising funds.  It also provides energy and excitement to credit union representatives about what they do, and boosts everyone up heading into the final three months of the 2015 Campaign.  It's an event for people who have been involved in the Campaign for a while, as well as people new to the Campaign," remarked Jon Paradise, Vice President of Governmental & Public Affairs for your League and Staff Liaison for your League's Social Responsibility Committee.

In addition to brainstorming, getting an overview of fundraising opportunties and partnerships, attendees will also have an expanded opportunity to volunteer at Good Shepherd Food Bank in the warehouse by packing, sorting, and distributing food to some of the more than 600 hunger organizations that Good Shepherd serves.

The event takes place on Thursday, October 1, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd in Auburn.  Lunch will be provided.
