After nearly 30 years as President/CEO of EMMC FCU, Ralph Ferland, who also served as Chair of your League's Board for three years, has retired, effective Friday, August 7th. Jim Pelletier, who was hired last month by the CU's Board to replace Ferland, has officially taken over as the new President/CEO.
While new to EMMC FCU, Pelletier is not new to the Maine CU Movement, having been with NorState FCU for the past sixteen years, most recently in the position of Vice President of Commercial Lending. During a recent visit with Ferland to your League, Pelletier called joining the credit union "an exciting opportunity in a new area that also allows me to remain part of Maine's credit unions. I look forward to helping EMMC FCU grow and move forward with new opportunities."
John Murphy, President of your League, said Pelletier's knowledge and understanding of credit unions should make the transition a smooth one. Murphy also offered his best wishes to Ferland. "For nearly three decades, Ralph was a strong credit union leader not only at his credit union but in a variety of capacities serving other credit unions including ten years on your League's Board, three as Chair, and, most recently, as Chair of Tricorp FCU's Board. Ralph's contributions to Maine's credit unions are significant, and we wish him well in retirement."
