Recently, your League announced that it was hosting a Fundraiser and Reception for Congressman Bruce Poliquin, a member of the important House Financial Services Committee, in conjunction with the Management Roundtable on Tuesday evening, September 22, at the Samoset. The initial response from credit union officials committing to support this event at the Host or Welcome level has been strong, but your League is still hoping to add additional contributors before finalizing the Invitation and signage that will be sent to all credit unions and appear at the event.
"This is the first time Maine has had a member of Congress serve on the House Financial Services Committee in more than four decades, so we appreciate the role and support of Congressman Poliquin as a member of this Committee which considers and initiates many pieces of legislation that impact credit unions. Since being sworn in last January, Congressman Poliquin has been receptive to our issues and concerns. This Fundraiser and Reception is an opportunity to further solidify our relationship and to discuss our priorities, as well as to demonstrate our appreciation for his initial responsiveness and willingness to communicate with us on a consistent basis. We appreciate those credit union leaders and officials who have already committed at one of the lead sponsorship levels, and look forward to additional contributors being added before the Invitation is finalized by the end of the month," explained your League's President John Murphy.
All contributions are voluntary. Anyone has the right to refuse to contribute without any reprisal.
