With League Committee Chairs now appointed, the focus has turned to encouraging volunteers to serve on one of your League's Committees. A packet outlining the various Committee opportunities available was sent to all CEOs late last week.
"League Committees serve a valuable and important purpose as they provide for a forum to exchange ideas, develop consensus, and provide feedback on initiatives, programs and activities. We look forward to having another robust group of volunteers serving on one of your League's 2015/16 Committees," explained your League's President John Murphy.
The following League Committees are currently seeking volunteers:
Awards & Convention - Chair: Richard Dupuis - This Committee helps to organize and coordinate theme, program and other functions surrounding your League's Annual Meeting, and determines recipients of your League's Annual Awards.
Audit & Finance - Chair: David Desjardins - This Committee is responsible for facilitating annual dues and other financial activities associated with your League.
Education - Chair: Kyle Casburn - This Committee discusses ideas for trainings and conferences.
Governmental Affairs - Chair: Roger Sirois - This Committee reviews, provides feedback and helps develop positions on state (and some national) legislation.
Political Involvement - Chair: Scott Chretien - This Committee helps to coordinate fundraising for CULAC and Maine CULAC, encourage participation in legislative activities and events, and discusses and recommends candidate endorsements.
Social Responsbility - Chair: Vicki Stuart - This Committee facilitates and directs fundraising efforts for the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger, as well as the CUs Share for ME volunteer program and oversees the Dora Maxwell, Louise Herring and Desjardins State Awards.
Statewide Awareness - Chair: Rick Lachance - This Committee's responsibilities primarily focus on the statewide awareness campaign, and provides feedback and ideas on advertising initiatives.
Synergent Technology Services - Chair: Tucker Cole - This Committee provides a vision and forum to discuss the Episys Core Processing platform and other technology initiatives.
Members of your League's other two Committees (Governing and Personnel) are appointed by your League's Board Chair.
To volunteer to serve on one of your League's Committees, please complete this form, and return by email to Kelley Souza by email or fax to 207.773.0957. Please return all forms by June 30, 2015, in order to be considered to serve on a League Committee. Final Committee appointments will be announced in July.
