Maine CUs Encouraged To Help Promote Next Young & Free Maine Spokester Search


In preparation for the launch of the search on Monday, April 20, to find the next Young & Free Maine Spokester, your League is encouraging credit unions to help promote the search.  Your League has a variety of collateral marketing materials that are available for credit unions to use.

Recently, your League sent posters to credit unions, along with a short email to marketers about the search that also included social media and online graphics for credit unions to promote the search for the fifth Young & Free Maine Spokester.  Debra Trautman, Vice President of Corporate Marketing for your League, said, "Over the past four years when the Search is on and exposure about the program is high, a record number of 18-25 year-olds have joined local credit unions and opened accounts.  The search generates excitement from not only those interested in applying for the Spokester position but from young people who may not have been aware of the program at all."

The search period takes place from Monday, April 20, to Wednesday, May 13, with the public vote to determine the finalists taking place from May 15 to May 22.  After a 'Show Your Stuff Meet-Up' that will include representatives from your League's Young Professionals Network (YPN), your League expects to name a new Spokester by June 15.

"Credit unions can play an important role in finding the next Spokester so we hope they will promote the search as much as possible through their multiple delivery channels," added Trautman.
