Statewide Conference On Financial Education Open To Maine CUs

The Maine CU Financial Literacy Council and Maine Jump$tart invite Maine credit unions to attend and participate in the 6th Annual Fostering Financial Education in Maine Schools Conference on Friday, May 1, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.  As one of the lead sponsors of the Conference, your League will once again be highlighting the Financial Fitness - Money Management Experiences to the hundreds of educators attending the Fair.  There are lots of programs and speakers with valuable information that will be offered for credit union professionals to attend.

This statewide event brings together educators, administrators, and Maine's best financial literacy resources to provide education, and raise awareness of the importance of lifelong financial wellness.  The Conference featuries a variety of free financial education resources for K-12 and college-age students including workshops presented by classroom teachers, and financial literacy experts.  Your League will be presenting a mini-informational Financial Fitness Fair for educators attending the Conference as a way to encourage and increase participation and coordination of these Fairs during the 2015/16 school year.

The cost to attend is only $25 per person and is open to all credit union staff and volunteers.  The program takes place from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.  Register by clicking here.
