League, Synergent Preparations Help Operations "Weather The Storm!"

Recognizing the importance of investing in technology that enables employees and operations to be done remotely in the event that a disaster occurs paid big dividends for your League and Synergent in this past week's major blizzard that impacted much of the Northeast.

In preparation for the blizzard, your League and Synergent's Management Team met early Monday morning, January 26, and made the decision to have most employees work remotely on Tuesday, January 27, during what was anticipated to be the height of the storm.  The Team identified several areas that required on-site coverage and made staffing arrangements for those areas.  In a statement to all credit unions that your League and Synergent serve, John Murphy, President/CEO, explained, "We made our decision based on the safety of our employees and to be in the best position to continue to serve our credit unions during a dangerous winter storm.  Over the past few years, the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent have made a significant investment in technology to allow many of our operations and services to be performed remotely in a seamless and uninterrupted fashion. We have spent countless hours and conducted extensive testing in preparing for a wide-range of scenarios that could occur, including storm-related issues."

While the storm pounded much of the Northeast, including dumping two feet of snow in Westbrook, where the Credit Union Service Center is located, it was pretty much business as usual as employees conducted most, normal operations and business functions remotely.  "From all indications, our preparation and planning paid off, and our operations were minimally impacted, and we were able to respond to issues and questions in a timely manner," added Murphy.
