Helping Our Colleagues Impacted by Hurricane Ian

The devastation Hurricane Ian has caused in Florida and in parts of the coastal Carolinas is heartbreaking. Many of our credit union colleagues and their members have been significantly impacted by the storm. Recovery will take months if not years, and financial assistance is needed to help our credit union family in the south.

The League is making a donation to the National Credit Union Foundation’s CUAid program. This fund helps credit union people rebuild their lives, whenever and wherever a major disaster strikes. If your credit union is interested in making a donation or learning more about CUAid, please visit the Foundation’s website.

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates also has been coordinating disaster relief efforts through the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation to ensure credit unions and their teams have the resources to get through this difficult time. According to the Foundation, relief efforts have included delivering more than 65 generators to areas in need, raising nearly $185,000 to assist with immediate and long-term needs, collecting recovery equipment, and more. If your credit union is interested in assisting the Foundation, donations are being accepted online.

Credit unions are People Helping People, and there is no better time to lend a hand than now.
