Chapters are at the heart of Maine’s credit union movement. Each unique chapter—organized by geography—offers credit union employees a fun and meaningful way to network, learn, and give back to the communities they proudly call home.
This summer, chapters have brought people together through events like golf tournaments and a summer cruise, with many also raising funds for local charities. These gatherings create the perfect opportunity to connect with colleagues from other credit unions, discuss local challenges and opportunities, and participate in collaborative activities outside of the branches.
Chapters are always working hard to find fresh and engaging ways to reach new team members and retain current participants. As part of this effort, the KV Chapter recently organized a strategic planning session to outline goals and activities for the year ahead. Facilitated by the League’s Jake Holmes, the session sparked innovative ideas to drive inclusion and energize credit unions about the benefits of belonging to—and staying involved in—chapter activities.
If you haven’t yet attended a chapter event, the League encourages you to speak with your supervisor or CEO to learn more about the chapter(s) your credit union belongs to. You can also stay up to date by visiting the League’s website, where upcoming chapter events are posted as they are scheduled.
