In support of Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, nearly 80 people gathered at the Clarion Airport Hotel in Portland to participate in a “FUNdraiser” organized by UCU. This first-of-its-kind event for the credit union focused on its core values of caring and fun while giving back to their local communities.
The night featured bingo games called by UCU’s emcee who brought fun and laughter to the event, a robust silent auction with donations from local businesses and credit union sponsors, and plenty of snacks and pizza to go around. The event carried a festive atmosphere, brought to life by a dedicated team of UCU volunteers throughout the night.
With generous support from sponsors and event attendees, $7,727 was raised for the evening’s charitable cause, the Campaign for Ending Hunger. These funds will make an immediate and meaningful impact in our local communities, supporting food pantries and cupboards as they work to combat food insecurity and provide essential resources to our neighbors in need.

UCU’s April Gleason helped organize the evening of fun!
“Thank you to our sponsors, attendees, and the community for embracing our FUNdraiser and making it a success,” said April Gleason, UCU’s Chief Lending Officer. “We had an amazing event and will continue to play it forward, bringing fun and care to our future events supporting the campaign.”
