Scott Simpson
(From America’s Credit Unions) – On Tuesday, the America’s Credit Unions’ Board of Directors announced the appointment of Scott Simpson as the next President and CEO of the organization. His official start date will be November 3, 2025.
Simpson brings more than two decades of leadership experience in credit union advocacy, public policy, and strategic organizational growth. He currently serves as President and CEO of the California Credit Union League and Nevada’s Credit Unions, and is CEO of Utah’s Credit Unions, where he led an innovative multi-state partnership model that strengthened collaboration while preserving the unique voice of each state.
He has built a national reputation as a bold, effective advocate for credit unions and a champion of the People Helping People mission. He also led the establishment of Fuel Solutions, a nonprofit support organization for state trade associations. Throughout his career, Simpson has chaired the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), led the National Advocacy Fund, and taught the next generation of leaders at Western CUNA Management School. His deep understanding of the issues that matter most—combined with his ability to build coalitions, elevate member value, and drive forward-looking strategy—makes him the right leader to guide the organization and industry into the future.
The CEO Selection Committee conducted a robust and inclusive search process, gathering input through surveys and direct conversations with a wide range of stakeholders—including leagues, credit unions of all asset sizes, employees, and industry partners. Working with executive search firm Korn Ferry, the committee evaluated a pool of more than 100 candidates, using member feedback to identify the most qualified leader for this pivotal role. The result is a decision grounded in transparency, collaboration, and the voices of the credit union movement.
Simpson will be based out of the Washington, DC, headquarters of America’s Credit Unions.
