At the end of October, Norm Nolette Chapter credit unions banded together to honor first responders as the two-year anniversary of the devastating mass shooting at Just-In-Time Recreation in Lewiston approached. Many individuals, families, organizations, and other community members relied on area first responders in the wake of tragedy, and during that time, credit unions rallied to provide critical funding for the local Feed the First initiative. Giving back to those who put their community first by providing safety and protection is just one way Lewiston area credit unions demonstrated their appreciation as we all remembered the lives lost. Visits were made to multiple local organizations, including: the 911 Operations Center, the Lewiston Police Department, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, the Maine Resiliency Center, and the Lisbon Police Department. This is now the second year in a row that local credit unions have united to show their support on this important anniversary.
