NEFEC Seeks Members for Steering Committee

The New England Financial Executives Council (NEFEC) is seeking credit union professionals to join its Steering Committee. NEFEC is a professional association of credit union executives serving credit unions primarily located in northern New England. The Council was formed in 2006 by four members of the Tricorp FCU Board to provide a forum for credit union management to hear from high quality national industry speakers locally, while also creating an opportunity for networking and collaboration.

Over the years, the Council has brought many nationally recognized speakers to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, including speakers from Darling Consulting Group, CUNA, CUNA Mutual, FHLB Boston, Wolf and Co., NCUA, state regulators, and many more. The Council typically offers two educational/networking events each year in the spring and fall. However, during the pandemic, live and in-person events were postponed. The Council currently is planning a virtual event for the fall of 2021, with in-person events set to resume in the spring of 2022.

Steering Committee member duties entail:

  • Meeting virtually several times a year to plan educational/networking events
  • Meeting in-person annually for strategic planning
  • Deciding event content
  • Identifying potential speakers and coordinating the presentation
  • Selecting a date and location for events
  • Assisting in the promotion of events

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the Council’s Steering Committee, please email Terry Field at VSECU for more information at tfield@vsecu.com.
