Maine Credit Union Leaders Honored at Annual Event

Anne Marie Lane, Executive Vice President with TruChoice FCU, poses with League President/CEO Todd Mason after accepting the Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding Credit Union Employee.

Credit union leaders in various categories were recognized for their outstanding service before a crowd of over 700 people at the Holiday Inn by the Bay.

“Our League’s awards program recognizes the exceptional work of our credit union network’s employees and volunteers,” said Cheryl Lancaster, Executive Vice President of the Maine Credit Union League. “Each day, in every county across Maine, we have credit union representatives going above and beyond to serve their communities and their members.  These awards are our way of recognizing their commitment and expressing appreciation for their service.”

Awards were given in five categories.  Three of the awards, Jeannette G. Morin Award; Alexander Ferguson Award; and James M. Gratto Award, carry the names of credit union pioneers from Maine. A short video presentation highlighting all of the evening’s winners was made to further showcase their individual accomplishments.

“The best part of the evening is when we watch the videos of each winner’s colleagues talking about why they deserve their awards,” added Lancaster. “There is a great deal of pride and gratitude for their efforts and it’s on full display during this special event.”

Acadia FCU’s CEO Dave Desjardins stands to accept his award for Outstanding League Volunteer.
