League to Host Timely Town Hall Next Week

Credit unions continue to seek guidance on how to appropriately respond to complex situations involving:

  • The presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials: specifically, whether credit unions have the authority to restrict or deny access to ICE agents attempting to enter credit union property—including branch offices and adjacent parking areas.
  • Disclosure of member financial records: in particular, under what legal circumstances a credit union may disclose the financial records of members who have verified their identity using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) as part of the Customer Identification Program (CIP) process.

Join the League for our upcoming Town Hall on Wednesday, August 6, where Norman, Hanson & Detroy’s Daniel Cummings will share practical guidance on navigating these challenging issues. We also will dedicate time for your questions to ensure your credit union stays informed, supported, and well-prepared. Don’t miss this important opportunity to get the clarity your credit union needs.

Kelley Souza has shared Zoom meeting details for next week’s Town Hall. If you have not been receiving Zoom meeting invitations for Town Halls and would like to add your name to the distribution list, please email Souza at ksouza@mainecul.org.
