League Joins Down East Credit Union in Wishing David Tozier a Happy Retirement

When David Tozier began his career at Down East Credit Union in 1995, the credit union had one office location, $18 million in assets, seven employees and approximately 3,300 members.  Fast forward 23 years and it is easy to see how Down East’s operations have expanded under David’s leadership.

As of December 2017, Down East Credit Union was the 18th largest credit union in Maine with $177 million in assets.  The credit union has eight locations, 90 employees, and 20,000 members. Along with the large branch expansion, David helped to create three Credit Union Service Organizations: Consolidated Solutions, LLC, an indirect lending platform; Down East Insurance Agency; and Culane, LLC, the newest indirect lending platform.

David’s passion and excitement have been a driving force in Down East Credit Union’s success, while creating dozens of good-paying jobs and countless opportunities for Down East’s members to purchase new homes, reliable transportation, and enhanced savings.  On behalf of his team and the League, we wish David the best with his retirement and extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for his 23 years of exceptional leadership!

The Board of Down East Credit Union has selected current President, Joe Moses, to assume the role of President/CEO effective the first of the year.
