On Tuesday, the Maine Credit Union League hosted its first-ever CEO Roundtable, convening more than 50 credit union leaders representing 37 institutions across the state.
Designed as a dedicated space for collaboration, the roundtable brought CEOs and senior executives together to step away from day-to-day operations and engage in meaningful dialogue with their peers. The event focused on sharing perspectives, exploring challenges, identifying opportunities to fight fraud, and leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence to improve efficiencies.
“This was a valuable opportunity to connect,” said League President Elise Baldacci. “Whether participants work together regularly or were meeting for the first time, the goal was to create space for open discussion and peer-to-peer learning.”
The program featured insights from industry leaders, including Jessica Gamache, Head of Research at Filene, who facilitated most of the day’s discussion. Participants also heard from Trey Hawkins, Head of Political Affairs at America’s Credit Unions, who provided perspective on the upcoming election cycle and Maine’s U.S. Senate race, where incumbent Susan Collins faces a tough re-election campaign.
In addition to structured discussion, the roundtable emphasized participant engagement, with attendees contributing their own experiences and ideas throughout the day.
The event was made possible through the support of exclusive sponsor CU Insurance Solutions, whose partnership helped bring leaders together for both the roundtable and a networking social the evening prior.
As the inaugural event concluded, the focus remained on sustaining the connections and dialogue established during the session.
“We appreciate the engagement and the conversation that took place throughout the day,” Baldacci said. “Opportunities like this strengthen our network and support continued collaboration across Maine’s credit union community.”
The League looks to build on the momentum of the roundtable at future events, including the 88th Annual Meeting & Convention, Elevate 2026, happening next month on June 11 and 12.
