Recently, the Maine CU League announced endorsements for 142 legislative candidates running for election in 2018. With Election Day three months away, the timing of the endorsements was “to let those candidates receiving our endorsement know as early as possible to give them more time to prepare materials, and utilize our endorsement as much as possible,” remarked Elise Baldacci, VP of Governmental Affairs for the Maine CU League.
In the Maine Senate, the League endorsed a candidate in 31 out of 35 races including 21 incumbents running for re-election. In the Maine House, the League endorsed candidates in 111 of 151 races, of which 101 are incumbents.
Collectively, the League has endorsed candidates in 76% of legislative races taking place this fall.
