Gardiner FCU Provides Critical Support to Local Meals on Wheels Program

Gardiner FCU employees Tracie James and Kattie Peaslee at Meals on Wheels.

Earlier this year, Gardiner FCU made a commitment to help package meals for Spectrum Generations’ Cohen Center Meals on Wheels program. On Tuesday mornings, two credit union employees volunteer at the center for two hours and fill up to-go containers with nutritious meals. All credit union staff are eligible to volunteer and they are lining up to do it!

“I thought it would be a great way to participate and be on the front lines, so to speak,” said Vicki Larrabee, President & CEO of Gardiner FCU. “When I asked for volunteers, the response was overwhelming.”

In addition to lending their time and talent to support local hunger-relief initiatives, the credit union works tirelessly to raise money for the Campaign for Ending Hunger. On May 19, the Gardiner FCU team will be presenting over $19,000 to area food pantries and organizations, including Meals on Wheels. The credit union also is busy planning their next fundraiser—their annual Yard Sale for Ending Hunger.
