Credit union friends and colleagues came together on Tuesday, October 7, to celebrate the retirement of Cathy Bond, CEO of Connected CU. Bond’s last day serving the credit union will be October 17. During the special event, Bond was showered with praise by her colleagues, including her predecessor Rick LaChance and Kristen Poremby, who will take the helm of Connected CU upon Bond’s retirement.
A respected leader in the credit union movement for many decades, Bond has guided two institutions during her remarkable career—Winslow Community FCU and Connected CU. Throughout her years of service, she has been a trusted and comforting voice for her members, employees, and colleagues alike. She is held in the highest regard—not only by those she interacts with every day at her credit union, but also by everyone in Maine’s close-knit credit union system.
Known for her friendly smile and genuine care for others, Bond leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion, leadership, and service. She will be deeply missed by those she has worked alongside, and her impact will continue to be felt for years to come.
The League extends our heartfelt congratulations to Cathy and her family! We wish her all the best as she begins her exciting new adventure as a retiree.
