Live Chats are a cornerstone of collaboration for HRODC members—who are HR professionals from credit unions across the country, representing institutions of all asset sizes. Designed as a virtual forum for brainstorming, networking, and crowdsourcing solutions, each session brings together a wide range of voices and experiences to tackle some of the most pressing topics in the field.
Engaging Topics, Broad Perspectives
During the most recent Live Chat, participants explored a variety of timely and strategic topics:
- Succession Planning
- Professional Coaching for Management
- 2026 Compensation Strategies and Trends
- Sabbaticals
- 32-for-40 and 36-for-40 Work Week Models as Retention Strategies
Thoits’ role as moderator of this session was to facilitate an engaging and productive conversation with large-scale credit unions and smaller institutions—guiding the flow of dialogue, encouraging participation, and ensuring that the exchange of ideas remained robust and inclusive. The spirit of People Helping People was on full display throughout the session, and attendees left with new strategies to meet their specific organizational needs.
By leveraging the collective knowledge of HR professionals across the country, the HRODC continues to foster meaningful professional development and drive innovation in workforce management. Thoits’ leadership and participation in this recent event underscore her ongoing commitment to the advancement of HR practices and the credit union community at large.
