The Capital Area FCU team proudly presents a check of support to Special Olympics Maine.
Capital Area FCU recently made a $12,000 donation to Special Olympics Maine, continuing a long tradition of community support and partnership with the organization.
Over the years, Capital Area FCU has found creative ways to engage members and neighbors in supporting Special Olympics Maine. In 2024, the credit union brought the community together for a “Community Caterpillar” fundraiser, where decorated rocks represented individual donations benefiting Special Olympics athletes. The whimsical display helped bring people together while raising funds for year-round athletic opportunities.
Capital Area FCU also has been a strong fundraiser through other events, such as its annual Bowl-a-Thon, and was recognized as one of the top Special Olympics Maine fundraisers at a recent CU Insurance Solutions event.
This latest contribution will help support Special Olympics Maine’s mission to provide year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, fostering physical fitness, courage, joy, and inclusion throughout the community.
