Building Healthier Communities, Together

Here in Maine, credit unions and their members have been strong supporters of the American Heart Association (AHA), playing a vital role in building healthier, stronger communities. The AHA works tirelessly to raise awareness and provide resources around critical health priorities—from CPR and AED training to blood pressure management and nutrition security. With every partnership, credit unions and their members have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by aligning with the AHA’s mission.

As credit unions continue to champion the Campaign for Ending Hunger, the AHA is eager to share additional resources to help ensure every Mainer has access to healthy, nourishing foods.

Spotlight on Nutrition Security: Serve Day

One exciting partnership opportunity is the AHA’s Serve Day program, which gives credit unions the chance to bring the Association’s mission to life through meaningful, hands-on volunteer activities. Serve Day is designed to promote equitable health for all, and your credit union can make an immediate impact by hosting a Healthy Food Drive. Employees and members can join forces to collect nutritious food items for a local food bank or food access center—helping to strengthen both hearts and communities. And donations collected can count to your credit union’s Ending Hunger fundraising total at the end of this year.
