Webinars Put Focus on Data Security and Fraud

Cybercrimes are rising in this county. The most common type of cybercrime involves identity theft and fraud.  While the rise in these types of crimes is alarming, resources are available to help credit union professionals mitigate threats, share best practices, and minimize fraud exposure.

CUNA and the National Credit Union Foundation recently created a two-part complimentary webinar series on data security which provides an overview of the most pressing trends, best practices, resources, and preventative steps.

Part 1 and Part 2 can each be taken as individual webinars. In the Part 1 webinar, cybersecurity experts will guide participants through practical tips and resources available for preventing and responding to data breaches. The Part 2 webinar takes a deeper dive into topics explored in Part 1 by covering specific credit union case studies on prevention of breaches and response. The webinars are available online through October 31, 2019.

In addition, Synergent, your League’s service subsidiary,  will be hosting a complimentary webinar on June 12, from 1:30 – 2:30 PM to provide an overview of the fraud taking place via Shared Banking across the county.  Synergent will offer best practices tips for detecting and preventing fraud as both an Issuer and an Acquirer.  The link to this free webinar will be active shortly before 1:30 PM on June 12.
