On November 13, credit unions from across Maine will gather at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport to hear from national and state political experts and get their take on the current legislative environment, their outlook on the economy, and of course, the 2020 elections. Have you reserved your spot to attend?

The event will feature a keynote address from Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media. Forbes will provide his thoughts on the state of the economy, President Trump’s economic agenda, and how the economy might impact the 2020 elections.

Forum attendees also will hear from Ryan Donovan, CUNA’s Chief Advocacy Officer. Donovan will discuss the importance of credit union advocacy and provide updates on pressing policy issues, including cannabis banking and bank attacks. There also will be an opportunity to provide Donovan feedback for the 2020 CUNA-League advocacy agenda.

The day will close with a state legislative panel featuring former Senate President Michael Thibodeau and former Speaker of the House Mark Eves. Thibodeau and Eves will explore how you can conquer your political differences and still make an impact. They also will share insight about how credit unions can be most effective in Augusta.

“I’m thrilled about our lineup of panelists for this year’s forum,” said Robert Caverly, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Maine Credit Union League. “We couldn’t have assembled a stronger group of representatives to weigh in with our credit unions about pressing political and economic issues.”

Pre-registration for the 2019 Legislative Forum is required. Visit the League’s website for more information and to secure your attendance.
