Community Credit Union donates to St. Mary’s Nutrition Center

LEWISTON – Recently Community Credit Union presented the St. Mary’s Food Pantry with a check in the amount of $500. St. Mary’s Food Pantry provides food for over 1,000 people per week. In addition, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center supported over 130 households with their urban gardens located through the cities. They are located on Bates Street in Lewiston.

“Our work would be half as impactful if not for the collaboration and support of dedicated and engaged partners like Community Credit Union. We are so grateful for their commitment to programs that help build a more just, equitable and resilient community. We are looking forward to another great season of good food and growing together.” stated Program Development Coordinator, Sherie Blumenthal.

Community Credit Union participates in the Maine Credit Union League’s initiative known as the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.  Maine Credit Unions have raised over $8 million since 1990 to help end hunger in Maine.
