This program, led by attorney Todd Sherpy, is designed to provide credit union compliance officers, CEOs and managers with important regulatory information, updates and forecasts and will include discussion on the following issues:

Tuesday, February 9
10:00 – 11:30 am

  • Planning Your Compliance and Legal Strategy for 2021
The year may start slow but as the engine gathers steam, 2021 could be eventful. We will address compliance and litigation hot spots; actions to be taken; risk management of top exposures; and the focus announced by OCC and FDIC for 2021 (NCUA has not announced yet).
  • Fair Lending A to Z
Current events are reflected in the legal world (legal actions, compliance focus and enforcement, etc.). In light of what is going on it is a good time to ensure your fair lending compliance is as good as it can possibly be before someone else decides to take a look. We will review Fair Lending thoroughly to include common errors/omissions that can lead to exposure and recent regulatory considerations from all primary federal regulators – CFPB, OCC, FDIC and NCUA.

Wednesday, February 10
10:00 am – Noon

  • Regs D and CC Updated
This will be a review of the 2018-2020 changes and the effects on your Credit Union’s procedures. We will discuss options and other areas that can be impacted and consider how best to document the changes per required agreements/disclosures.
  • ODP
This is a high risk item that must be fully addressed from a legal, compliance and risk management and mitigation point of view. A single miss here can cost the credit union dearly. We will cover the ODP Rules from the beginning, the history of regulatory actions and litigation, and the lessons learned from ODP Compliance assessments to ensure a full understanding of the issues. We will address the specific disclosure obligations, compliance expectations and risk mitigation tools you should consider.
  • Focus on Maine Issues
Ellen Parent, League Regulatory & Legislative Advocacy Coordinator, will highlight issues at the state level, provide updates, and answer your questions.

Fees: $199 first registrant; $99 additional registrants. The webinar link will be sent to all registrants one day prior to the program.
