The safety and well-being of employees and members is a top priority for every credit union. Join us for an important virtual Town Hall focused on building awareness, strengthening preparedness, and empowering staff to respond confidently in the face of an active shooter or active assailant event. Through practical guidance and real-world scenarios, participants will gain valuable strategies to recognize warning signs, make informed decisions under pressure, and help create a safer workplace for everyone.
Vigilance and Permission: Prepare, Decide, Survive
This training equips participants with the mindset and tools to prevent and respond to active shooter/active assailant threats. It emphasizes vigilance through early recognition of behavioral warning signs, combined with the powerful practice of giving yourself permission to act whether reporting concerns proactively or making life-saving decisions during an incident. Using the Prepare, Decide, Survive framework and real-world context (“when seconds count, police are minutes away”), the session builds mental readiness; overcomes common barriers like hesitation and normalization bias; and empowers teams to protect themselves and others through awareness, decisive action, and post-event resilience.

About the Presenters:
Adam Gormely
Adam Gormely is a corporate trainer and motivational speaker specializing in de-escalation, leadership development, and workplace safety. He designs and delivers practical programs that help individuals and teams build resilience, make sound decisions under pressure, and create more effective work environments.
Drawing on his distinguished 30-year career in law enforcement with the Maine Warden Service, including command roles as Sergeant and Lieutenant, Gormely brings authentic, high-stakes stories into his sessions. These real-world experiences illustrate the power of preparation, strategic thinking, and purposeful action. His engaging, relatable style connects with audiences by turning those lessons into clear, immediately usable tools.

Drew Goodridge
Drew Goodridge is a seasoned leadership trainer, risk management consultant, and speaker with over 25 years of federal law enforcement and counterintelligence experience. A retired NCIS Special Agent in Charge, Drew served in key investigative, operational, and deployed roles across the Middle East. As a contract instructor at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Goodridge trained the next generation of counterintelligence professionals in Quantico, Virginia. He now serves as a consultant with Dirigo Risk Management Solutions, where he designs and delivers high-impact training programs helping organizations build safer, more intentional teams.
A ninth-generation Mainer, U.S. Army Reserves veteran, and active community leader, Goodridge brings a unique blend of practical expertise, faith-informed perspective, and authentic storytelling to every engagement; empowering audiences to lead with integrity, resilience, and purpose.
