  • The CU Lending Climate: An Industry in a State of Change
    The big are getting bigger and the small are fighting to survive. The entire banking industry is changing. How will it look in five years? This session will highlight changes that are revolutionizing the way consumers do banking. Learn about the trends taking place and how credit unions can be prepared.
  • Underwriting for Loan Growth
    If you want to capture and deepen a relationship with your members – give them a loan! Easier said than done, right? It is not that many do not qualify, it is that you do not know how to qualify them. Relationship mitigates risk and every loan should be evaluated based on the 4-Ds and the two levels of underwriting. Learn to take better care of members lending needs.
  • Building the Perfect Process for Efficient Workflow
    This session identifies the ideal lending work-flow that needs to be established at a credit union for scalability and efficiency. Technology alone is not the answer! The assembly line lending process will be presented as a best practice approach.
  • Data Mining for Success
    Capture member loans that you otherwise would not have known about! Identify value propositions for your members and offer them a compelling lending option. Develop the ideal list to follow when data mining for lending opportunities.
  • Strategic Lending Puts an End to Order Taking
    The days of waiting for your members to request a loan are long gone. Reactive lending is out! If you want loan business you have to go out and get it! This session will help you take a strategic approach to a proactive lending program that will be key to your future lending success.

Program Leader: Pierre Cardenas has held executive level positions in organizations from $140 million to a billion in assets. He has built and managed consumer, mortgage, indirect and commercial programs along with innovative remote delivery channels and retail branch experiences. He has held positions in compliance for community banks & credit unions and maintains his NCCO designation. In 2010 Pierre joined forces with CU Lending Advice and in 2015 became CEO of Capitol Credit Union in Austin, Texas.
