Operations Specialist


Midcoast FCU is seeking an Operations Specialist I to support our Operations Department. This individual will assist in performing maintenance of member records, reviewing and completing card and deposit related reports, auditing account maintenance activities, processing wires, handling returned mail, and setting up ACH/EFT transfers. While also delivering high quality service excellence and seek to support the mission and overall goals of the credit union. This is a hybrid position with some in office work required.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Review and perform quality control, daily, and monthly reporting/auditing within card programs accurately and efficiently. This may include performing account file maintenance or research. Perform card fraud reporting and tracking with assistance. Review card file maintenance reports including cards reported lost and stolen after hours, and track ATM balances independently. Consistently meet set department deadlines with respect to card processing activities and adhere to all card related compliance regulations.
  • Review and perform quality control, daily, and monthly reporting/auditing within deposit programs accurately and efficiently. This may include performing account file maintenance or research such as subpoenas, levies, member verifications, and any member requested information. Perform ACH fraud reporting and tracking with assistance. Consistently meet set department deadlines with respect to deposit processing activities including but not limited to setting up EFT Transfers, ACH originations, and processing wires. Adhere to all deposit related compliance regulations.
  • Act as an internal resource for both the department and credit union peers. Contact other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve common problems/errors.
  • With assistance, create and maintain procedural guidelines for daily tasks. Report all errors/ concerns and make recommendations for improving the efficiency, accuracy, and essential functions of the position to better serve staff and members.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Experience:

1-3 years similar or related experience.

Education:

A high school education or GED is required. An Accounting degree is preferred but not required.
