Loan Operations Manager


Community CU is hiring a Loan Operations Manager at its Lewiston location.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and the quality of work performed by the Loan Sales Specialists and Loan Processor which includes consumer lending and loan servicing. This position will lead the loan team to ensure the Loan Sales Specialist and Loan Processor meet organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals. This position will serve as the primary Underwriter and Real Estate Loan Officer and ensures compliance with credit union lending policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite all consumer loans, home equity loans and real estate loans.
  • Assign, direct, coordinate, motivate, and review work assigned to the loan team. Administer performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions. Monitor delivery of quality levels, take action to resolve issues, and improve where needed.
  • Serve as the primary Real Estate Loan Officer, processing HELOC and mortgage loans.
  • Ensure the credit union is in compliance with all lending regulations; develop procedural changes as compliance requires or new programs demand.
  • Serve in a backup capacity for the Loan Specialists and Loan Processor. Oversee and coordinate deposit operations functions to ensure the branch operates efficiently including scheduling, problem solving, balancing branch totals, and ensuring all necessary supplies are in order. Performs monthly audits and reports as assigned.
  • Oversee loan operation functions to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively including scheduling, problem solving and coordinating training efforts with the internal staff and the appropriate third-party vendor.
  • Participate in the establishment of weekly, monthly, and annual department goals and monitor performance. Ensure that loan growth strategies, polices, and procedures are implemented as instructed. Ensure that sales plans and goals are met by both individual and subordinate personnel. Prepare assigned department updates and reports for the Executive Vice President and Leadership Team.
  • Serve as liaison with third party consumer, mortgage, and commercial lenders.
  • Perform other job related duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with appropriate attention to details.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple objectives and achieve goals.
  • Strong computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education:

A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
