Director of Collections


Downeast CU is hiring a Director of Collections that could work remotely within commuting distance of any of the credit union’s eight locations. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Lending & Branch Operations, this individual will direct and coordinate the Collection and Loss Prevention functions of the credit union. Responsibilities include ensuring that adequate processes are in place to preserve the credit union’s assets by controlling delinquent accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, and the recovery of collateral, as necessary. Overseeing the daily operations of the collections department, this position will remain current of federal and state laws and collaborate with the senior executive team in determining credit risk. A Bachelor’s degree preferred; or 5-7 years experience in overseeing all aspects of collections.
