Card Services Specialist


Town & Country FCU is hiring a Card Services Specialist to work both remotely and from the Scarborough location.

Unique compared to many financial institutions, we own our credit card program, thereby the program is locally serviced by Town & Country and its employees. Town & Country was one of the first Maine-based institutions to offer contactless cards, Apple and Android Pay, and wearable payment technology.

Function and Responsibilities  

The Card Services Specialist assists members with their plastic card accounts by explaining services, processing credit applications and increase requests, resolving transaction issues, monitoring for fraud, processing member dispute requests, verifying accuracy of cards issued, and assisting members with telephone requests. The cards team shares the responsibility of performing daily maintenance and service requests on accounts such as issuing, blocking, and renewal of credit and debit cards. By learning our lending and service philosophy, identifying member needs, assisting other departments, and offering first class service, the Cards Services Specialist plays an intricate role within the cards team.

Education & Experience   

  • High school education or GED
  • One year to three years of similar or related experience

Interpersonal Skills 

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Good listening and telephone skills, sales and relationship building experience, and the ability to work well within a team are essential.

Location 

This position is a combination of working remote and in office. Department location – Operations Center, Scarborough Maine.
